It is a cheerleading comedy drama series based on journalist Kate Torgovnick book entitled Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders and created for television by Kevin Murphy.Hellcats television show stars Alyson Michalka, Ashley Tisdale, Robbie Jones, Matt Barr and Heather Hemmens. Season premiere on September 8, 2010.
